Treatment Plan: Treatment was initiated with hyrax rapid palatal expander appliance assisted with palatal expansion surgery to correct the crossbite situation. RMO Synergy brackets were placed on upper and lower arches. A gradual advancement in wires from NiTi wires to stainless steel wires were used. In my many years of experience, I have used everything from pinched bands, preformed bands, Begg brackets to self-ligating brackets. The amount of control the tri-morphic Synergy bracket allows for me to have over aligning and leveling is unmatched by any other. Once all leveling and aligning was complete the patient was prepped and ready to proceed with orthognathic surgery. Orthodontics and orthognathic surgery improved occlusion and facial aesthetics.
